Brown fat cells may one day help fight of obesity (HealthDay)

the human body has two types of FAT: the "bad" white kind that saves calories and the "good" Brown type that burns them. Now, the researchers say that it actually more Brown fat people to lose weight can make.

"We are now more optimistic that Brown fat could be used for the treatment of obesity and diabetes," study lead author Dr. Aaron Cypess, Assistant Professor at diabetes said Harvard Medical School and the Joslin Center in Boston, in a press release of the endocrine society.

In 2009 have Cypess have shown that even though adults have more fat than Brown, know most tend some Brown fat in the broadcast area of the front of the neck to her breast.

Now, in a follow up study's planned presentation Sunday at the Endocrine Society annual meeting in Boston, more good Brown fat cells is also available in lower fat of Cypess found. In fact, some of them were actually in white fat cells mixed.

"It's a marbling at the cellular level," said Cypess in the press release. "We asked: it wouldn't be nice if you could grow more Brown fat?" "The answer is Yes."

The researchers grew mature human Brown fat cells of pre-adipocytes or pre-fat cells, a fresh sample taken from the Brown fat. Cypess would be noted that the process which took place about two weeks in a laboratory, probably faster to happen in the body.

By measuring the oxygen consumption rate of fat cells, the researchers also showed that Brown is a significant number of calories of fat burning actually. Although the study found that stimulate the growth of additional Brown fat may be a promising treatment for obesity, emphasizing the researchers, that more make good fat is not a substitute for proper diet and exercise.

"As powerful as Brown fat to burn calories may be we can easily eat out the advantage," warned Cypess.

Because this study in a medical meeting was presented, the preliminary results should be seen until they are published in a peer-review journal.
